Interesting articles from the Croatian daily "Vecernji List" published in October, 1990 are reflecting a chaotic situation in Yugoslavia on the eve of its disintegration. Among the other things, Slobodan Milosevic was accused that he had started to construct "the Orthodox Balkan nuclear bomb". In Bosnia and Herzegovina, facing pre-election panic, a similar rhetoric was used as today, so the members of the Central Committee of the Union of Communists - SDP addressed the public with a call for "co-existence and equality in BaH" during their presentation of the candidates of the Left Bloc for the BaH Presidency, including Nijaz Durakovic, Ivo Komsic, Mirko Pejanovic and Zlatko Lagumdzija. The windows of the HDZ (Croatian Democratic Union) HQ in Zenica were stoned, and the HDZ leader, Stjepan Kljujic described the conditions under which the party was operating in Sarajevo as extremely limiting. The Chetnik Duke, Vojislav Seselj, PhD, was imprisoned because of his activities related to collecting signatures for the displacement of The House of Flowers (Tito's grave) from Belgrade to Kumrovec (Tito's birthplace) and volunteers "to help Serbian brothers in the Knin Krajina.
